According to Wikipedia: “Batik is an Indonesian technique of wax-resist dyeing applied to whole cloth. It is made by drawing dots and lines of the resist with a spouted tool called a tjanting”. Now we don’t actually own a tjanting. Nor would we know what to do with a tjanting if we did own one. Instead, we persevered using a combination of felt tips and computer-aided design.
